Green Lantern: The Animated Series - Scarred

With Aya‘s (Grey DeLisle) path of destruction spreading across the universe Hal Jordan (Josh Keaton), Kilowog (Kevin Michael Richardson), and Razer (Jason Spisak) head back to Oa where the Guardians of the Universe bench Hal and his team, but that doesn’t stop the threesome from doing their own investigating by going through the quarters of the recently deceased Science Director (Sarah Douglas), the one who built Aya, searching for a way to stop their friend.

Discovering a hidden laboratory below the Science Director’s quarters Hal, Kilowog, an Razer head to a set of coordinates where they survive an attack by asteroid monsters and find the scientist’s secret laboratory, along with the scarred, but very much alive, Science Director. The following discussion not only fills in viewers on the specifics of Aya’s construction but incorporates the idea of a living entity of Will inside the Green Lantern Power Battery, a piece of which the Science Director stole to make Aya more than machine and grant her curiosity, emotion, and free will.

In order to get close enough to Aya to reboot her emotions, the group gathers enough Orrum (the yellow crystals which weaken the green energy in Aya and in the rings of Green Lanterns) to build a warhead. The Science Director tells the group she can design a bomb to depower and paralyze Aya, but only after they witness an explosion big enough to rip a planet in half do the two Green Lanterns see the Guardian’s true purpose. Despite the Science Director’s best efforts Aya survives. Although Hal is able to buy some time by sacrificing the Interceptor, the universe’s time is running out at the group is back to square one with no idea how to stop the Guardian’s out of control creation.
