Hawaii Five-0 - Ho'oilina

On the fourth anniversary of his father‘s (William Sadler) death McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) learns of an unsolved homicide that continued to haunt the Hawaiian police officer and left a young girl without a father. Befriended the woman (Mirrah Foulkes), now an assistant prosecutor for the state, McGarrett decides to reopen the case an attempt to do what his father never could – bring the man’s killer to justice.

The absence of Danny (Scott Caan), still dealing with his brother’s murder and the reopening of a case personal to Steve’s father means “” lacks the witty repertoire the show is known for. Foulkes is an interesting addition as a possible recurring character and new love interest for McGarrett suggesting Catherine‘s (Michelle Borth) absence may indeed be permanent.

In the episode’s B-story Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) discovers Jerry‘s (Jorge Garcia) unauthorized survellience of the used book story which finally may be moving forward after being teased for weeks. Next week should play on the trouble Jerry has gotten himself into as well as offering this season’s Halloween episode involving the bizarre kinds of cases Five-0 runs into the same time every year.
