Hawaii Five-0 - Ua 'eha ka 'ili i ka maka o ka ihe TV review

Season Ten of Hawaii Five-0 largely glosses over the events which ended last season, other than to reveal it was Jerry (Jorge Garcia) who was shot at the end of the season allowing Hawaii Five-0 to write off the character as a series regular (although possibly bring back Garcia in a recurring role somewhere down the line). Other than Jerry’s recovery and subsequent life-change, the episode deals with the introduction of a new character in Quinn Liu (Katrina Law), former staff sergeant with Army CID, who is looking into the disappearance of some missing veterans that have turned up on the island as mercenaries hired to take out a list of gang targets.

Ortega will be missed, but honestly the show has struggled to find storylines for him (other than offer needed technical expertise from time to time). The other notable absence seems to be most of Danny‘s (Scott Caan) hair in an odd fashion choice, like the current state of Junior (Beulah Koale) and Tani‘s (Meaghan Rath) relationship, which isn’t commented upon. Referencing McGarrett‘s (Alex O’Loughlin) age more than once in the episode, the introduction of Quinn Liu suggests it won’t be long before she becomes a permanent member of Five-0 (and take over some of the reckless hero antics fans have watched McGarrett get into over the previous nine seasons).
