Human Target - The Wife's Tale TV review

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the Second Season of Human Target. In “The Wife’s Tale,” Christopher Chance‘s (Mark Valley) past comes back to haunt him. Opening with an assassination he commited seven years ago, the episode jumps to the present where he attempts to protect the wife (Molly Parker) of the man (Dino Antoniou) he murdered from a similar fate. The fact that both jobs came to Chance from the same unscrupulous broker (M.C. Gainey) with plans of his own, and that the wife discovers Chance’s involvement in the death of her husband, complicate the situation even further.

Although his character is never named in the episode, Adrian Hein provides a strong antagonist for the episode as the younger hitman. “The Wife’s Tale” also spends time further incorporating the show’s two new characters as Ilsa Pucci (Indira Varma) tags along with an increasingly annoyed Winston (Chi McBride) and Ames (Janet Montgomery) spends some time with Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley). By the end of the episode the client is safe (if still distrustful of Chance), Ames has earned a bit of respect from her unlikely mentor, and Ilsa has gotten a better (if shocking) look at the business she has decided to bankroll.
