One of my complaints with Batman: The Brave and the Bold was its choice in the current Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes over the Silver Age version Ted Kord. Most of the show’s choses have gone towards the classic characters rather than the contemporary version. So when this episode delivers not only Kord but his bosom buddy Booster Gold you know that my inner JLI fan giggled with glee.

Booster travels back in the past to hang-out with his best friend one last time, give him a victory of an adversary that always alluded him, and say goodbye. Everything goes to plan, except for when he returns to the present the world is under siege by giant monsters.

Batman and Booster travel back to the past trying to set things right, and in the process spend time with their good friend (who’s at a loss how to keep his two very different best pals from coming to blows). My only real complaint is the Madniks themselves, a less than stellar villain. However, the episode is about the heroes and their relationships so the choice of against a more recognizable baddie in this episode is probably a good one.
