New Amsterdam - Death Begins in Radiology TV review

It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in on New Amsterdam, but the show’s Third Season finale offers an opportune time to do so by providing separate vignettes centered around the various core characters of the show. The theme of love play a prominent role in each one of the separate stories, although I was partial to those involving Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) and Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) eventually finding their way to each other after dealing with their own frantic series of events (his missing wedding ring, her family drama back in England). It’s about time.

“Death Begins in Radiology” reminded me of what I liked about the show, it-s cast – primarily Agyeman and Eggold, and how the various politics of the hospital didn’t ever quite capture my interest. Other stories here involve Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims) getting a career boost only to discover his new boss is the husband of the woman he’s been sleeping with, Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) struggling with a moral decision to keep the woman she loves in her life, and Dr. Iggy Frome (Tyler Labine) making a decision regarding his future. However, it’s the show finally pushing Helen and Max together where the finale hits its stride. Now, what comes next?
