Reacher – Papier

With the show entering its final three episodes, “Papier” starts to answer questions and fill in gaps to the larger picture about the counterfeiting ring working out of Margrave. Reacher (Alan Ritchson) and Finlay’s (Malcolm Goodwin) stakeout may not give them what they expect, but it does explain what Finlay is doing in Georgia and the past which continues to weigh on him. If the stakeout fails, Reacher does get answers from one of two returning professors (the other ends up dead before our hero can reach them). Here he learns about the importance of $100 bills and begins to make ties to what he knows about the pollution and the money shipments to Venezuela.

The other big thread of the episode is Roscoe (Willa Fitzgerald) taking over protecting Charlene (Kristin Kreuk) and her children. On the first night after Picard (Martin Roach) leaves, the cabin is attacked. While too busy struggling to stay alive, no one will question that coincidence leading to a rather obvious reveal to end the next episode. Roscoe is able to handle both killers in the woods and get the girls to relative safety, which prompts another reveal as Charlene explains her husband getting tricked into laundering counterfeit money for the Venezuelans (which is shown in another series of flashbacks). With the deck stacked, the series sets the stage for the final two bloody episodes of the season.
