Scooby Saturday takes us back to another mystery involving some meddling kids and their talking dog. Despite the look of the Gator Ghoul, a walking alligator with eyes that illuminate things in a strange light, I’ve never been much of a fan of the episode set in the middle of a swamp and responsible for introducing the character of Scooby-Dum (Alan Oppenheimer), a cousin to Scooby (Don Messick) who at times can even be more annoying than Scrappy-Doo.

The mystery involves the gang looking into why the mysterious gator is scaring off people from Ma Skillet (Virginia Gregg) and Pa Skillet‘s (Messick) riverboat restaurant deep in the swamp. Mystery, Inc. will uncover clues to discovering the Gator is a movie prop, and from there they only need  to catch and unmask our baddie who becomes the Gator as part of half-baked revenge plot.
