Batman - How Many Herrings in a Wheelbarrow?

In honor of Batman‘s 75th Anniversary we turn out attention back to the Dark Knight’s more memorable moments on the big and small screen and The Adventures of Batman. Batman (Olan Soule) and Robin (Casey Kasem) are initially confused by the Joker‘s (Larry Storch) bizarre crime spree. Breaking into secure locations only to steal items of no consequence including a wheelbarrow leads the Dynamic Duo back to the Batcave to think hard on what the criminal might actually be up to.

Remarking to Robin the tale of a man who stole wheelbarrows through misdirection, Batman pieces together what the various companies robbed by the Joker have in common. Realizing what the Joker is actually stealing is classified information to build his own solar mirror powered laser, the Dynamic Duo head into action to take the villain down.

The episode plays on basic tropes of the live-action Batman series storylines including a death trap which Dynamic Duo survive halfway through the episode and the Dark Knight Detective relying on the Batcomputer to help find the motive to the Joker’s crimes which fit well with the classic version of the character as their true purpose of the madman’s real actions isn’t revealed until it’s almost too late to be stopped.
