The Big Bang Theory - The Opening Night Excitation

In the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory Sheldon (Jim Parsons) struggles with a pair of decisions concerning Amy‘s (Mayim Bialik) birthday and the opening night of the new Star Wars film. Choosing his girlfriend over his beloved franchise, Sheldon also shocks Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) in his choice of present as the scientist announces his willingness to sleep with Amy for the first time.

Aside from his opening announcement, most of Sheldon’s scenes take place either with Amy or in his own bedroom featuring the return of Bob Newhart as the Jedi-ghost version of Professor Proton. The show deals responsibly with Sheldon’s choice, and Amy’s delight in her boyfriend’s choice of present. Meanwhile, the others decide to use Sheldon’s ticket to invite Wil Wheaton to the screening without taking into account his Star Trek history. “The Opening Night Excitation” is a fun episode that ties together the A and B stories better than almost any episode of the season allowing all the characters to express their opinions about the events they took part in.
