After inadvertently hurting Amy’s (Mayim Bialik) feelings Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is forced to turn to Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and later Penny (Kaley Cuoco) for suggestions of how to make things right – without putting out too much effort. The solution for Sheldon, someone who can’t apologize or show real remorse, is obvious – buy her a present.

Meanwhile, while perfroming a magic show for a children’s birthday party Howard (Simon Helberg) learns something about Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) that may put their future in jeopardy. It seems Bernadette doesn’t like children, and as Howard notes the feeling seems to be mutual.

As Sheldon gauges how far he’s willing to go to apologize Howard must decide whether he can marry a woman who so obviously doesn’t wan to have children.

Centered around the two current series relationships, “The Shiny Trinket Maneuver” doesn’t have quite the level of zany you might hope for in the show’s return after their Winter hiatus., but there are some fun moments including Amy’s reaction to Sheldon’s apology.
