Returning to the comic’s original timeline, Vince awakes to his new life as a vampire… and (as we learn in the final panel) something else as well. Reintroducing the “current” timeline for us mostly through the young vamp’s eyes, we get Vince learning the hard way how hard it is to control his bloodlust (even from a friend) but also see how willing he is to stand by Gray when the pair are attacked by the vampire hunter Eda. Vince may be a vampire, but it appears that his love for Gray hasn’t waned.
I’m glad to be back with Vince and Gray (who it appears has gone through her own change after saving Vince’s life by turning him into a vampire). The big reveal at the end of the issue turns things on its head with Gray no longer the host of the demon Eda so desperately wants to kill and Vince waking up to a brave new world indeed.
