The second episode Season Two introduces a new rocket-powered vigilante targeting Triad Industries developing a clean new energy source along with rocket technology designed for space travel. The company’s desperate need for funding lets Bruce Wayne (Hamish Linklater) sniff around for clues far easier than his nighttime alter-ego.
Looking a little more like Mister Atom or the Rocketeer than her original flirtatious design in Batman: The Animated Series, the show reintroduces Roxy Rocket (Wunmi Mosaku) as a renown scientist with a legitimate grievance against her former employers and their far-less-noble plans for her inventions. The tragic recreation of the character is quite effective, as are Batman’s run-ins with Roxy (including an aerial dogfight) before deciding to help her take down Triad and honor her wishes about keeping her technology out of the wrong hands.
