- Title: Remington Steele – Altared Steele
- IMDb: link
Throwback Thursday takes us back to a con man pretending to be the world’s greatest detective in Remington Steele. A confused young man (Fred McCarren) walks into the offices of Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan) suffering from amnesia and multiple attempts on his life. Despite Laura‘s (Stephanie Zimbalist) initial skepticism, the man’s story turns out to be true (and he turns out to have a host of wives who all loved different versions of Frank and all with motives for wanting him dead).
Monique van de Ven, Delta Burke, Jane Kaczmarek, Carole Ita White, and Clara Perryman all guest-star as the ladies Dannon, one of whom will turn out to be our would-be killer. The episode also continues the frustration of Laura at how Mildred (Doris Roberts) constantly defers to, and dotes on, Steele. After making a mistake, when Mildred tenders her resignation in a moment of self-doubt, Steele decides to come clean with his most loyal employee about who “Remington Steele” really is (although, to Laura’s continued frustration, the true doesn’t take).
