Zatanna #1

Zatanna‘s new magic tour gets off to a bad start when members of her crew are pulled into various realities within the Astral Plane during rehearsals in the opening issue of the new series. Aside from the opening, where we get a little of Zatanna working with her crew, the comic’s main focus is Zatanna jumping here and there to get her friends back to the real world before confronting the Lady White as to the reasoning behind her attack.

Transformers #17

Transformers #17 jumps around quite a bit to storylines both on Earth and on Cybertron. We see Thundercracker discovering the fate of Skywarp (but being unable to offer his friend any peace). We get Arcee and Beachcomber, along with the humans, searching for Ultra Magnus. We get the continuation of the Decepticon factions fighting each other spilling into the nearest human city forcing the Autobots to get involved, rescuing as many humans as they can. And, on Cybertron, we see the Autobots making a run at the Decepticons and the Hall of Sparks.

Magik will get a face-to-face with the demon at the end of the issue, but before that comes to pass we’ll get the mutant fighting off the possessed Ren and demon apparitions out of her electric guitar from breaching another seal.

Green Lantern Corps #1

After the fall of the United Planets, a new volume of Green Lantern Corps begins here with the Corps working to restore order in a universe where the emotional spectrum has gone out of whack, replenish its ranks with new recruits, and earn back some respect. With an extensive cast, the comic looks like it will focus on a revolving focus of a main character or main characters every issue/arc. Although we see the likes of Jo Mullein, Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, a rehabilitated Sinestro, and Simon Baz (among others), the main character in the first issue is John Stewart.

JSA #4

Captured by the Injustice Society, Dr. Mid-Nite is able to escape her cell and snoop around a bit learning a few facts about the super-villains plans involving the Tower of Fate, Hawkman, and the Spear of Destiny. Unfortunately, after learning this (and doing a break good job at both fighting her way out and sneaking around), eventually the doctor runs into trouble she may not be able to handle alone.
