Actor turned producer Bruce Campbell sat down with Machinima to discuss the new Evil Dead remake which sounds much more serious in tone and far less funny (“there’s not a snappy line in the whole movie”) than I was expecting. The remake of Evil Dead starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Elizabeth Blackmore opens in theaters on April 12th.

Based on the books by Lee Child, Tom Cruise stars as Jack Reacher, a former military police investigator turned drifter, who shows up to prove the innocence of a sniper (Joseph Sikora) believed to have killed five victims. Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Michael Raymond-James, Alexia Fast, and Werner Herzog also star. Jack Reacher opens in theaters on December 21st.
Bill Murray as Franklin Delano Roosevelt? Okay, you’ve got my attention. On the eve of WWII, Murray stars as the President of the United States who hosts King George VI (Samuel West) and his wife Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) at his country estate in Hyde Park. Olivia Williams, Elizabeth Marvel, Elizabeth Wilson, Sam Creed, and Laura Linney as his distant cousin and mistress Margaret Suckley also star. Hyde Park on Hudson opens in limited release in select cities on December 7th.
The latest from writer/director David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter) stars Bradley Cooper as a former teacher recently released from a mental institution following his downworld spiral after discovering his wife’s (Jacki Weaver) affair. Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Chris Tucker, Anupam Kher, and Brea Bee also star. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Matthew Quick, Silver Linings Playbook was a huge hit at the Toronto Film Festival. The movie opens in theaters on November 21st.
