Man of Steel

Warner Bros. has released a (somewhat blurry) movie poster and new full-length trailer for Man of Steel, DC’s new Superman reboot starring Henry Cavill and directed by Zack Snyder. Although the new trailer doesn’t give away much more about the film’s plot than the earlier teaser trailer it does give us some strong hints that we are in for yet another origin tale as well as giving us glimpses of Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Zod (Michael Shannon). Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Tahmoh Penikett also star. Man of Steel opens in theaters on June 14th.

After his appearance of Jack Reacher this Winter, Tom Cruise‘s next project from writer/director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) casts the actor in the role of a soldier sent to a distant planet where he is ordered to destroy the remains of an alien race. Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Zoe Bell, and Melissa Leo also star. Oblivion opens in theaters on April 19th.

LeverageIn an open letter to fans of the show, Leverage co-creator Dean Devlin discusses the future of the TNT drama which still has not been renewed by the network to return for a sixth season. This means the remaining three episodes of the show’s Fifth Season, culminating in the season finale which airs on Christmas Day, may very well be the show’s series finale as well. The bad news is it looks like there’s a good chance Leverage is going away. The good news is, with foreknowledge that this could be a possibility, the producers put the original concept for show’s final arc of the series in place for this season. This means if the show is going out (which I certainly hope isn’t the case) at least it’s going out on its own terms and exactly as the show’s creators originally envisioned. We now have our first teaser for Star Trek: Into Darkness, and, apparently, Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Bane. There’s been much hullabullo across the Internet about whether the actor is or is not playing Khan Noonien Singh in the Star Trek sequel, but the similarities to Tom Hardy‘s villain from The Dark Knight Rises in this trailer are a little hard to ignore. Whatever the name of his character, it appears Cumberbatch is Starfleet’s reckoning. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, and Bruce Greenwood all return. Alice Eve and Peter Weller also star. Star Trek: Into Darkness opens in theaters on May 17th.
