Psych takes good-natured jab at Mentalist

For those unfamiliar, both Psych (USA) and The Mentalist (CBS) center around main characters with heightened skills of observation who solve crimes. The premise which Psych took and ran with to create an extremely silly, but nonetheless entertaining, show was tweaked by CBS who last season decided to create their own, less silly and more dramatic (though, to be fair, also entertaining), take on someone with this particular skill set.

And now Psych has tweaked back in this short commercial. Psych, along with Monk, returns with new episodes this Friday on USA.

Leverage – Season One in 2:37

Season Two of Leverage is set to begin tomorrow night. The show centers around a team of thieves and con artists (Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, Aldis Hodge) who use their unique talents to help those who have been taken advantage of by the system. If you, like me, missed the first season (seriously, I don’t even remember hearing about this show last year) here’s a quick recap to get you up to speed. The first episode of the second season, “The Beantown Bailout Job,” airs Wednesday night at 9/8c on TNT.

Psych, the USA Network original about a psychic detective who’s not so much a psychic (or a detective), returns for a new season on Friday at 10/9C. I must admit I’m pretty psych-ed as I’ve been a fan of the zaniness (including many 80’s pop culture references) of the show since it first aired. Will Eisner‘s iconic comic hero (Gabriel Macht) who returns from the dead to fight crime in Central City hits the big screen thanks to longtime pal Frank Miller.  Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L.
