I’ve got to hand it to USA Network for churning out show after show that I want to watch. It doesn’t hurt that their latest stars Piper Perabo. I’ve been a fan of Perabo’s since she took a road trip with a certain moose and squirrel ten years ago. Covert Affairs is set to air on USA July 13th following the season premiere of White Collar.
Even if NBC seems to be doing its damndest to make sure no one ever watches their network again (‘cept for the inherent awesomeness of Chuck, of course) the USA Network (which is owned by NBC Universal) seems to be going strong.
Psych returns tonight to round out a schedule which already includes new episodes of White Collar and Burn Notice. To help you get Psych-ed (sorry, couldn’t resist) here’s the “Private Eyes” commercial featuring the cast of the show.
Psych may be off the air for a short hiatus, but it will be back in January with new episodes. I’m a fan of the show’s offbeat irreverent nature and plentiful pop culture references. In this clip taken from “Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark” Shawn’s pals finally track down the robbers who have taken the psychic detective hostage. Although happy to see the cavalry our hero is less than enthused by being the Paul Walker of the scenario.
It seems Richard Castle has a best seller on his hands. Who cares if he’s fictional? Heat Wave, which debuted at #26 on the New York Times Bestseller List, was authored by the fictitious author played by Nathan Fillion on Castle (no word yet on who really wrote the book), and follows Detective Nikki Heat (inspired by the character played by Stana Katic on the show).
TV’s new Fall Season seems to be upon us. There are plenty of new shows. There are also more than a few who were dragged out back and unceremoniously capped in the back of the head and dumped in shallow graves. I’m still a bit bummed with the fact that both Life and Pushing Daisies got the chopping block, but there are still plenty (at least ten) which are returning and are worth watching (including a couple returning tonight). Is this a top ten you are sensing? I think it is.
Before we begin let me take a moment to give a shout out to NBC’s Chuck which only misses the cut because his return won’t happen until Spring of 2010. Damn you NBC!!!! (And you wonder why you didn’t get a single show on the list) Okay, having gotten that short rant out of the way, now on with the list…
