After a tip from the Mayor (Keegan-Michael Key), our intrepid podcasters head to the wilderness of Connecticut and a secret rendezvous among the trio of billionaire suspects they still aren’t allowed to podcast about. After the season premiere brought the team back together, “Who by Fire” offers a common theme about members of the team taking chances perhaps the shouldn’t. The second episode takes a longer look at the aftereffects of Lala‘s (Mariel Molino) car accident on both her and others while providing a case for a dead surfer on the Naval beach. Along with unexpectedly bringing back Flaco Navarro (Scotty Tovar) who has a dangerous deal for Lala, the episode is also built around Gibbs‘ (Austin Stowell) towards Franks (Kyle Schmid) for not allowing him to conduct an interrogation and eventually deciding to take matters into his own hands.

While last season’s finale teased for a moment that Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) and Matty (Kathy Bates) would be on the same page, the late twist of Julian‘s (Jason Ritter) involvement in the Wellbrexa cover-up left Olympia with no good options. The first two episodes of Season Two have both Matty and Olympia attempting to protect their friendship while also maneuvering behind each other’s backs as Matty pushes to reveal the evidence to the New York Times and Olympia keeps stalling trying to get Matty to go after Senior (Beau Bridges) who they both know was the one behind what happened.

Picking up a few months after the events of the Season One finale, Watson returns with another case of the week while also teasing the possible return of Dr. Ingrid Derian (Eve Harlow) to the team as Watson (Morris Chestnut) hasn’t found a suitable replacement. However, it’s the final scene of the episode that provides the most intriguing change to the show with the apparent return of Sherlock Holmes (Robert Carlyle) potentially disrupting the life Watson has finally been able to carve out for himself after the loss of his friend. As to what Holmes’ return means, in both the short and long term, we’ll just have to wait and see.
