Reacher – Papier

  • Title: Reacher – Papier

With the show entering its final three episodes, “Papier” starts to answer questions and fill in gaps to the larger picture about the counterfeiting ring working out of Margrave. Reacher (Alan Ritchson) and Finlay’s (Malcolm Goodwin) stakeout may not give them what they expect, but it does explain what Finlay is doing in Georgia and the past which continues to weigh on him. If the stakeout fails, Reacher does get answers from one of two returning professors (the other ends up dead before our hero can reach them). Here he learns about the importance of $100 bills and begins to make ties to what he knows about the pollution and the money shipments to Venezuela.

The games of Elena Federova (Morena Baccarin) continue as the latest puts Doak (Noah Bean) in danger and in prison Owen Turner (Kamal Angelo Bolden) and Sergey (Costa Ronin) deal with an unforeseen problem. Val (Ryan Michelle Bathe) tracks down one of Federova’s lieutenants, giving her a small win (and also ending the Doak stalemate without any big takedown by Federova). That isn’t the only win, as Val discovers how someone is communicating with Federova inside the black site. Now, can the FBI find a way to use this knowledge to their advantage?

NCIS: Hawai’i – Monster

  • Title: NCIS: Hawai’i – Monster

When NCIS connects a hitman to a local restaurant, Kai (Alex Tarrant) goes undercover in the kitchen where he uncovers the owner and head chef being pressured into laundering money for a local drug dealer as well as the connection to the hired killer who arrives and begins killing everyone in the operation. While providing most of the action, and getting NCIS onto the case, the hitman is somewhat of a red herring for the trouble at the restaurant which Kai uncovers. Family drama fills in the various B-stories as Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and her ex deal with her son (Kian Talan) considering a college scholarship far from home and Kai’s troubled history with his father resurfaces on the eve of his mother’s birthday.

Wolf Like Me – Episode 4

  • Title: Wolf Like Me – Episode 4

After another public run-in, that gets a bit more comedic than it needs to (but still entertains), Mary (Isla Fisher) comes to dinner in an episode that suggests maybe having a girlfriend who is a werewolf isn’t the worst thing in the world. “Episode 4” continues to build on Mary’s relationship with Emma (Ariel Donoghue) and, despite his objections and insecurities that eventually drive her out of the house, Gary (Josh Gad) continues to fall for her as well. I will assume the final two episodes will explore if this relationship will work, and what happens when Emma learns Mary’s secret?

Legacies – Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

  • Title: Legacies – Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

The various drama at the school is put on hold in “Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost” as Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) and Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) torture Aurora de Martel (Rebecca Breeds) and, in Limbo, Alaric (Matthew Davis), Landon (Aria Shahghasemi), and Ted (Ben Geurens) make a deal with a genie getting three wishes that don’t go as anyone expects. The Limbo storyline, with its various twists, turns out to be the better of the two stories returning on character to his villainous alter-ego, one character back to the land of the living, but leaving two of them trapped in Limbo. As for the Hope/Lizzie storyline, I can’t help question whether Lizzie’s big breakthrough moment, leading to a team-up with Aurora), is merely another of Hope’s plans. I guess we’ll wait and see.
