James Bond 007 #11

James Bond 007 #11 comic reviewAfter breaking free of Goldfinger‘s control, Bond, Lee, and Agent K declare war on Oru. So thorough are the formidible threesome that Goldfinger decides to beat them to the punch and destroy small parts of his organization to make sure that what is left fear their master more than the troublemakers.

Leading into next month’s conclusion of the Goldfinger arc, Bond and his new friends certainly cause problems for their foe here… although trouble uncovered investigating Olympitech, and Bond and Lee’s governments refusing to sanction their current actions, lead into a final pitch by Goldfinger. It’s unlikely to sway Bond, but might it be enough to sway either of the other spies?

I haven’t read every issue of the series, so perhaps the Olympitech plot line was introduced elsewhere but it sure seems to come out of nowhere as the comic turns on a dime in the final pages leading into Goldfinger’s appearance in the final panel. Still, the trouble our heroes get into in the earlier pages are pretty entertaining. Worth a look.
