After uncovering the subway station in the Rock of Eternity, Billy and his friends decide to do a little exploring. The first stop is the Funlands (a large amusement park with something sinister just below the surface and a new acquaintance waiting to meet the wizard’s new champions). While the kids enjoy their time, it’s obvious that something more is going on… and just who is this new champion? Friend or foe?
If the initial view of the Funlands is any indication, there’s quite a lot happening that may require some Marvel-sized heroing before all is said and done. Could one of these lands also offer the possibility of introducing Hoppy and Tawky Tawny as well? I guess time will tell.
SHAZAM! #2 also features an appearance by Dr. Sivana and Mr. Mind (inside the scientist’s ear), who we see also has an entry in the large book which the scientist has been carrying around, likely foreshadowing his eventual run-in with the Big Red Cheese and the rest of the Marvel Family. Worth a look.
