Castle - Heartbreaker

After finally putting Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) back together again, Season Eight offers a surprise by making the reunited pair’s first case an episode the revolve almost entirely around Esposito (Jon Huertas). Although it certainly creates some continuity issues to reveal a convict ex-fiance for the police officer this late into the series, Angélica Celaya is so good in the role that when she eventually betrays Esposito it’s painful for the audience as well.

Star Wars #17

Star Wars #17After dropping Aphra off at Sunspot Prison, Leia and Stana Starros run into a bit of trouble when a madman with his own droid asassins shows up and takes over the prison determined to exact a far more brutal form of justice on the inmates.

Trapped in with prisoners, Leia and Starros are forced to make hard decisions on what they will need to do to survive and who they are willing to trust in order to do so.

The other storyline is a bit more lighthearted as Luke wrangles up some smuggling business for the Millennium Falcon after Han loses Rebellion credits while gambling. The ship’s captain is not pleased with the deal Luke makes (only half of the 10,000 credits Han expected), nor the cargo (a herd of skittish Nerfs) or how it brings Imperial TIE Fighters after them.

Once Upon a Time - Our Decay

“Once Upon a Time” feels stuck in a rut telling new versions of the same stories over and over again. When Zelena (Rebecca Mader), her baby, and are brought to the Underworld characters immediately fall into old habits. Belle (Emilie de Ravin) becomes distrustful of Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle), who makes a compelling case to Belle about who she actually fell in love with, and Zelena attacks Regina (Lana Parrilla). Even Zelena’s small growth over the course of the episode is eventually wiped away.
