The Flash - Legends of Today

After weeks of laying building blocks leading up to the mid-season premiere of the new spin-off Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash kicks things into high-gear with the first part of a Flash/Arrow crossover that brings he heroes of both cities together to fight the unstoppable force of the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). Although Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) is nowhere to be found, all other hands are on deck for a storyline that begins in Central City with Savage’s arrival searching for the reincarnated Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) and her Hawkman (Falk Hentschel). The plot will lead back to Starling with Barry (Grant Gustin) calling on the help of Oliver (Stephen Amell) and company to keep Saunders safe while trying to figure out exactly what the group is dealing with.

Supergirl - Red Faced

Basically re-purposing a storyline from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman “How Does She Do It?” pins down Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli) as the series’ Lex Luthor stand-in as the genius billionaire creates a series of disasters around the city to test Supergirl‘s (Melissa Benoist) abilities. Even going so far as to put himself and potentially thousands of others in danger just to test the Kryptonian hero’s abilities, it’s obvious Lord has bigger plans for both the city and it’s new hero.

Steve JobsSteve Jobs (Michael Fassbender) has been the subject of several movies and documentaries in recent years. Aaron Sorkin‘s screenplay, based on the book by Walter Isaacson, isn’t your typical biopic. Rather than a look through the man’s life, Steve Jobs is instead a series of conversations between Jobs and the people closest to him behind-the-scenes at various product launches. Given how much has been covered about the man’s career, life, and personality the film’s choice skips over well-covered events such as the creation of Apple computers to focus on Jobs’ continual struggle to deal with the people closest to him.

Filling in gaps with montages and dialogue, the script focuses in on the Apple Macintosh launch in 1984, the NeXT Computer launch in 1988 following Jobs’ removal from Apple, and the launch of the iMac following Jobs return to Apple in 1998. Through these events we see Jobs’ relationships with longtime assistant Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet), Steve Wozniak (Seth Rogen), John Sculley (Jeff Daniels), Andy Hertzfeld (Michael Stuhlbarg), and Chrisann (Katherine Waterston) and Lisa Brennan (played by Makenzie Moss, Ripley Sobo, and Perla Haney-Jardine).
