Wonder Woman #758 comic reviewWonder Woman #758 offers a battle of wills between Diana, Princess of the Amazons, and one of the DC Universe’s most mysterious mystical figures as Wonder Woman squares off against the Phantom Stranger in battle for the soul of Paula von Gunther.

The battle of wills between the demi-god and the the fallen angel forced to walk the Earth takes up most of the issue and Diana uses one of her oldest weapons to force the Stranger into a painful admission that appears to have immediate consequences for the mysterious figure in the fedora (making you wonder what may be next for the character).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow #1 comic reviewBuffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow #1 catches up to Willow Rosenberg following the events of the Hellmouth crossover as she leaves Sunnydale behind. When the overseas stay in London fails to break her out of her malaise, she can’t find it in herself to return to a Sunnydale without Xander and instead hits the road in an attempt to deal with what she has lost and to find herself.

This first issue meanders a bit, but that’s part of the point as writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Natacha Bustos offer a look at a familiar character in unfamiliar surroundings. While Willow isn’t exactly lost, the path in front of her is anything but clear as she searches for some measure of peace.

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to crime-ridden streets of St. Canard and a hero who flaps in the night. After a hard night crimefighting, an exhausted Darkwing Duck (Jim Cummings) takes Gosalyn (Christine Cavanaugh) for a few rounds of miniature golf only to be shrunk to the size of Lilliput (Frank Welker) who has been shrinking buildings all over town to add them to the course. Using his helmet to communicate, the villain has ants steal the various locales and break into the miniaturized vaults allowing him to expand the treasures back to normal size.

While the first issue of the series was presented from Joe Hardy‘s point of view, issue two shifts to Nancy as she explains the circumstances behind her “death.”

The Syndicate obviously wants Nancy dead, and now that both Joe and Frank know she’s alive (although Joe is still steamed that his brother has known for weeks), the trio set out to discover the truth.

Super Dinosaur - The Great Race television review

“The Great Race” gets its name from Super Dinosaur (Mac Heywood) living out a fantasy of turning the Dynamo Dome into an obstacle course for Derek (Valin Shinyei) and Erin (Shannon Chan-Kent) to race through the facility putting Pixie (the robot Derek built Erin) to the test. The other half of the story, which interrupts the race, involves the return of Squidious (Brian Drummond) who unwittingly becomes a pawn of Max Maximus’ (Marco Soriano) latest scheme which involves the sea creature absorbing liquid Dynore to become a kaiju-sized threat (only to be taken over by Maximus). Emboldened by her racing skills, Erin decides to join Derek and SD in the field where she proves herself (but also gets grounded for her recklessness). As for Squidious, after being saved by Derek and SD he leaves peacefully but warns them he still views all surface-dwellers as his enemies.
