American Psycho

Adapted from the novel of the same name, 2000’s American Psycho cast Christian Bale as investment banker (and serial killer) Patrick Bateman. Satirizing yuppie and corporate culture, perhaps never more pointedly than Bateman’s insecurity and jealousy of another banker’s business card, the dark comedy includes a number of familiar faces in supporting roles including Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Chloë Sevigny, Samantha Mathis, Justin Theroux, and Reese Witherspoon.

Daredevil – Shoot the Moon

  • Title: Daredevil: Born Again – Shoot the Moon
  • IMDb: link

Marginally advancing the season’s plot, “Shoot the Moon” feels mostly like a filler episode where we get to spend time with various characters and get to see a couple of sequences highlighting our hero’s new costume while also showing us that Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) has learned a few things from her boyfriend. The Northern Star is still pivotal to the plans of both heroes and villains, but no real movement is made. Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) is confirmed to be the man who saved Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) but the reasons for his actions, and later attack on the anti-vigilante squad, aren’t explored.

Will Trent – He Lives!

Believing his uncle to have been captured by one of James Ulster’s (Greg Germann) disciples, Will (Ramón Rodríguez) rushes to Puerto Rico to work with an FBI agent (Mallory Jansen) to rescue him. The episode offers the trademark comedic spots, including Will barging in on Antonio (John Ortiz), who hasn’t been taken yet, and his lady friend, before things get serious in a trek through the jungle and a twist (which, admittedly, is pretty easy to see coming). It’s not the strongest episode, but the story does allow Will to continue working through his complicated feelings about Ulster while also offering the possibility that a number of his crazed fans might be out there to do his dirty work from the grave.
