Glee - Tina in the Sky with Diamonds

The Beatles theme from last week’s season premiere continues as McKinley High prepares for prom and Tina‘s (Jenna Ushkowitz) nomination for prom queen quickly goes to her head beginning with dumping Sam (Chord Overstreet) as her prom date and making everyone around her miserable. The equally nominated Kitty (Becca Tobin), who has no interest in winning the crown, finds herself in the middle of a feud between the Glee Club and the Cheerios (who push the cheerleader’s campaign whether she wants to win or not).

Arrow - The Complete First SeasonThe CW’s take on Oliver Queen‘s (Stephen Amell) transformation from spoiled rich boy to hero after spending five years on a (not so deserted) island proved steady after some shaky beginnings. Along with Green Arrow (who was sadly referred to as “The Hood” or simply “the vigilante”) the show’s First Season included putting its spin on several DC characters including Dinah Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Shado (Celina Jade), China White (Kelly Hu), Deadshot (Michael Rowe), and the dark archer Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman).

Mixing Oliver readjusting to life in Starling City with his mother (Susanna Thompson) and sister (Willa Holland), while also unleashing a deadly form of justice on the streets with the help of his hacker pal (Emily Bett Rickards) and bodyguard (David Ramsey), the First Season also included ongoing flashbacks to his time on the island.

G.I. JOE: Special Missions #7

G.I. JOE: Special Missions #7The latest issue of G.I. JOE: Special Missions finds Zartan in on the run in the middle of the Australian Outback from both the JOEs and the Dreadnoks, who he abandons to pursue his mad dream of using the genetic information on the MARS device to populate the planet with an infinite number of Zartan clones.

With action both back at the Dreadnok base and in the various pursuits, as the JOES and Dreadnoks fight amongst themselves for who will get to Zartan first, G.I. JOE: Special Missions #7 is filled with a good amount of action and is available with a Torch variant cover (c’mon, you know you want one).

Zartan’s mad plans are (thankfully) short-lived and we won’t have to suffer through a battle of clones. But his abandonment of the Dreadnoks also suggests that might not be seeing them again going forward (and least not under his command). I’ve got to admit, this makes me a little sad. For fans.
