The Incredible Hulk Returns review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the wanderings of the presumed dead scientist Dr. David Bruce Banner (Bill Bixby) and the savage creature within him known as the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno). Made six years after The Incredible Hulk concluded with David still haunted by his angry alter-ego, the first of three television movies gives us the scientist working on a a Gamma Transponder under an assumed name at the Joshua-Lambert Research Institute which he believes will offer him a cure and a chance at a normal life with Dr. Maggie Shaw (Lee Purcell). However, bad guys intent on stealing the technology and the unexpected appearance of an old student (Steve Levitt) and his power new friend Thor (Eric Allan Kramer) ruin any chance for normalcy.

MacGyver - Abduction + Memory + Time + Fireworks + Dispersal TV review

After five seasons, the rebooted MacGyver closes up shop. While predominately about the nanobots which the team discovered earlier this season, and which MacGyver (Lucas Till and Riley (Tristin Mays) were infected by, the episode begins with the disappearance of both characters who reappear a day later having been experimented on by a drug company and the U.S. Government hoping to turn the technology into a means of weaponized mind control. With various plot threads left dangling such as the fate of Desi (Levy Tran) and Mac’s relationship (once again the show strongly hints there’s far more than friendship between Mac and Riley), it’s obvious the show wasn’t meant to be a series finale. That said, the rushed wrap-up of the nanobots (who become infinitely more dangerous in this episode) works to end that hastily assembled final arc.

Supergirl - Prom Night! TV review

“Prom Night!” leaves Supergirl (Melissa Benoist, who doesn’t appear in this episode) trapped in the Phantom Zone in favor of a whacky time-travel episode as Nia (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) travel back to the 90s looking to secure a biological sample from Kara’s past in hopes of using it to find her in the the Phantom Zone. So quickly following The Flash‘s recent 90s time-travel episode doesn’t help the premise, nor does the sitcom-ish humor stretched to an hour’s lenghth, but it does allow the show to bring back the younger actresses for Kara (Izabela Vidovic) and Alex (Olivia Nikkanen) one more time. As expected, the pair’s mission goes wrong leading to them interacting with Kara and Alex and accidentally changing past events causing unknown repercussions as the episode comes to an end with the two time travelers captured by aliens who were originally caught by the DEO.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #279

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #279 comic reviewG.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #279 offers another of the “Untold Tales” from writer Larry Hama and the rotating artists (this time Alex Sanchez). The comic opens with the story already begun. Cobra has launched a successful strike on the U.S.S. Flagg from their well-fortified position in the fjords of Southern Frusenland using Terror Dromes, Firebats, Hurricanes, and Rattlers (albeit with heavy loses).

Crippled, but not sunken, the Joes have launched a counterattack with the only three flightworthy vehicles in their possession before the second wave of Cobra fighters can reach the aircraft carrier.
