The Umbrella Academy – Plan B #1

“He only told the world about seven.”

In the rubble of their former home, the Umbrella Academy is attacked by another team, a team built and trained in secret, a team of Sparrows. Rather than present the group as from an alternate timeline (as was shown in the Netflix series), this group has been together for years as seven additional children born on the same day and found by Sir Reginald Hargreeves. However, this group of heroes, even as children, play a bit harder than the Academy.

With no word on if the characters will return for another season, Sherlock & Daughter comes to a close with an episode wrapping up most of the season’s threads, although it does leave one dangling should the show get picked up for another season. Returning with new episodes for the first time in a decade, “Summer Block Buster” kicks of a new summer vacation for Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (David Errigo Jr.) with a musical number at the end of the day of the last day of school. Returning home, the pair and their friends make way for the neighborhood’s block party creating multiple inventions including a giant Whack-a-Pest, a giant dart balloon game, a giant cotton candy machine, and flying bumper cars. At the same time Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire) has come out of retirement and his latest invention leads to trouble all around when the Vaporizer-inator hits Linda (Caroline Rhea) turning her into a giant cloud.

Bob’s Burgers – Snackface

While Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) and Linda (John Roberts) deal with a computer issue which provides some enjoyment bringing back the kind of strip mall one-man computer repair shop that you don’t see much of anymore, the bulk of “Snackface” follows Louise (Kristen Schaal), Gene (Eugene Mirman), and Tina (Dan Mintz) creating the new ultimate snack they sell at school. It’s a fun take on the crazy things kids will eat (and also attempt to get away with under the noses of adults) with a twist involving the obsessed Millie (Molly Shannon) joining the team, although not for the reasons the Belchers expect.

Secret Six #4

Secret Six #4 picks up with our rag-tag group being taken down by Jeannette. Following the advice of Dreamer, Jon Kent gets himself and Catman out allowing the rest of the issue to focus on this unlikely pairing. Thomas Blake hanging out with Superman’s kid is certainly not something I would have expected from this, or really any DC comic. The pairing does help flesh out the story by helping Jon get a better understanding in general of how the Secret Six work, and more importantly Blake’s relationship with Deadshot
