Usagi Yojimbo: Ten Thousand Plums #2 picks up at the moment the first issue ended with Gen, Miyamoto Usagi and Yukichi, having been stopped by the Shogun’s men, hearing cries which lead them to a field of bodies and the only living witness being a young girl too stunned to explain what she saw (or so our wanderers believe). We’ll get more uncertainty from our travelers, who are still quick enough to jump into action, but it will appear to be at least one more issue before they become aware just what story is unfolding here.

Both stories have a bit of a ticking-clock element as Olympia can only keep Matty hidden for so long to grill her, eventually Sarah (Leah Lewis) and Billy (David Del Rio) do find her pulling her into the case, and their client going into labor forces even more immediate action.
