Playing off a traumatized Will Trent  (Ramón Rodríguez) dealing with the events of “Best of Your Recollection,” we get a two-part episode that centers around a series of mysterious deaths that link up to a cult known as Olas Collective. Before getting proper approval, Will attends one of their meetings opening up to an edited version of events which gives him an opportunity to go undercover into a wilderness compound and search for both a killer and a stolen baby (all while getting the opportunity to not have to deal with his everyday life).

The rape and murder of a sailor brings Tish‘s (Tonantzin Carmelo) case back in prominence as Franks (Kyle Schmid) wrongly assumes it’s the same man. Both cases eventually work themselves out with NIS solving the relatively simple case of the new killing, but in learning about Tish they decide to help Franks find the evidence needed to put the FBI’s latest suspect away. Gibbs (Austin Stowell), with his own history of vengeance and revenge, acts as a voice of reason for Franks talking him down from taking the law into his own hands. While the episode closes the loop on this story, it doesn’t mean a happy ending for Franks as Tish chooses to leave and find the peace which has illuded her.

Although initially believing Irene’s story, and see Holmes in her son, Watson (Morris Chestnut) begins to see the cracks realizing all of this is nothing more than one more scam in which Irene has involved an adept student.

Presented after the fact through flashbacks and recollections, “Best of Your Recollection” involves a shaken Will Trent  (Ramón Rodríguez) recapping events which led to the unfortunate shooting of a young teenage boy. Kecia Lewis guest-stars as the gruff Internal Affairs investigator who separately grills both Will and Faith (Iantha Richardson) about events before eventually closing the case largely due to evidence uncovered by Angie (Erika Christensen) and Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin). We also see Marion (Gina Rodriguez) attempting to help Will through a difficult time and the explosion of events involving Faith’s son hitting the fan.
