Throwing together Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa, The Wrecking Crew is your basic odd-couple buddy action-comedy with the two cast as reunited half-brothers working to solve their father’s murder (which local officials are all too eager to write off as a traffic accident. Bautista is the straight-laced Navy SEAL with Momoa being the suspended police detective known for coloring outside the lines and getting into trouble.

After an extended flashback explaining the circumstances in which Jaskirat Singh Rangi became Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), the sequel continues the undercover agent’s work pitting the local Karachi’ gangs against each other while sewing dissent and rising in the ranks until he’s able to land a crippling blow against Pakistan’s terror network. Intentionally bloodier and gorier than the first film, Dhurandhar The Revenge completes the story loosely inspired by real events with a patriotic, and one could even argue propagandist, spin.

Zombie-adjacent, 2017’s Mayhem is a balls-to-the-wall action-horror that offers the opportunity for mass carnage over 86 minutes (while also taking a few pointed jabs at corporate culture). Steven Yeun stars as mid-level exec Derek Cho and Samara Weaving as desperate client Melanie Cross whom he rebuffs. Shortly after that interaction, Derek’s bosses throw him to the wolves to protect their own asses. However, before either can be escorted out of the building, the offices are locked down for a viral outbreak of “Red Eye.”
