As you might expect, the evening made quite an impression on young Bruce Wayne.

Batman - The Ring of Wax / Give 'Em the Axe TV review

For Throwback Thursday we take a look back at another episode of the classic 1966 Batman TV-series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. Wax is the name of the game in this two-parter which features the return of the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) who smuggles in a new Universal Wax Solvent into the country inside a wax replica of himself. After causing a scene at the Gotham wax museum, the Riddler makes off with his prize which he plans to put to good use. Following clues left at the scene of the crime, the Dynamic Duo head to the public library where they run into a very sticky situation (so to speak). The next time Batman and Robin catch up with the Riddler things don’t go any better as they are left hanging over a vat of boiling wax in the cliffhanger scene.

Batman - The Joker Trumps an Ace / Batman Sets the Pace

For some Throwback Thursday fun, we’ll take a look back at another pair of episodes from the 1966 Batman TV-series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. In “The Joker Trumps an Ace” the Joker (Cesar Romero) returns with a series of bizarre crimes including stealing the hole from a golf course. Eventually the Joker’s plan to kidnap a visiting maharaj is revealed, but it also ends up trapping the Dynamic Duo in a death trap where Batman and Robin climb out a chimney to avoid death by gas. “Batman Sets the Pace” allows the Caped Crusaders to do a little undercover snooping as Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson tracking the villain to his lair.

Adam West and Burt Ward return to voice the Dynamic Duo in this new animated adventure featuring the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler (Wally Wingert), and Catwoman (Julie Newmar). The direct-to-video feature will release on Digital HD on October 11th and Blu-ray and DVD on November 1st.
