Today’s Throwback Thursday takes us back to the future for another episode of Batman Beyond. During a break with Dana (Lauren Tom), Terry (Will Friedle) meets Melanie Walker (Olivia d’Abo), a new girl in town. The two make an instant connection and seem to understand what each is going through. At the same time a new Royal Flush Gang arrives in Gotham City led by a King (George Lazenby) with a grudge to settle against Batman for breaking up an earlier version of the family years before. The reason Melanie understands Terry so well is that she too spends nights in spandex under the gruff leadership of an older, driven man.

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the future for another episode of Batman Beyond. The show made a name for itself with a variety of new or redesigned villains, but in “Meltdown” Batman Beyond pulls in a fan favorite from Batman: The Animated Series. With Derek Powers‘ (Sherman Howard) radiaion sickness growing less and less manageable, he turns to a new scientist who believes she can successfully transfer her boss’ brain to a new body without his affliction. Prior to putting himself on the line, however, the need a volunteer for the experimental procedure. Enter Victor Fries (Michael Ansara).

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the future for another episode of Batman Beyond. With Wayne-Powers and Foxtecha up for the same lucrative contract involving the building of a new lunar station, Derek Powers (Sherman Howard) enlists the help of a corporate saboteur known as Inque (Shannon Kenny) to cripple the competition. After getting his butt kicked twice by the shape-shifting mercenary, the new Batman (Will Friedle) is forced to return home and regroup. It will take both Dark Knights (with Bruce wearing the familiar goggles and hat of his childhood hero) to fight off the villain after she sneaks into the Batcave.

Batman Beyond: Rebirth #1Batman Beyond: Rebirth #1 is a pretty basic primer for those unfamiliar with the television show of the same name. Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Ryan Sook give us flashbacks to the series’ first episode explaining how Terry McGinnis became the Batman of the near-future Gotham.

The other piece of the issue introduces the future world and sets up the idea that most people still believe Terry to be dead (including his former girlfriend Dana who gets kidnapped by Jokerz). This sends Batman into action into the new Jokerz-run part of the city known as Jokerz Town.
