Charlie's Angels - Target: Angels television review

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police detectives turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. John Horn guest-stars as a hitman sent after the Angels. After unsuccessful attempts on each of the women’s lives, the team decides to fake Sabrina‘s (Kate Jackson) death in hopes of luring out the killer. What the Angels learn, almost too late, is that the mercenary wasn’t hired to kill them but only to put them in enough danger that it might draw out his employer’s true target: Charlie himself. The ruse almost succeeds, but the Angels uncover the truth just in time to save Charlie (even if the makeshift plan invovles stealing an taxi that gets blown-up on Charlie’s driveway). Unfortunately for the Angels, success means barely missing their chance for the group’s first in-person meeting.

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police detectives turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. To find out more about what happened to a young woman who went missing after being held on questionable charges in a rural county prison, Kelly (Jaclyn Smith), Jill (Farrah Fawcett), and Sabrina (Kate Jackson) get themselves arrested. What they find is a corrupt sheriff (David Huddleston) framing attractive young women and railroading them into prison without a trial. Once in the women’s prison, the ladies are put to hard work in fields, forced to deal with creepy guards (including Anthony James and Mary Woronov), and then dolled up for friends and suppliers of the prison to help “work off” their sentence.

Charlie's Angels - Night of the Strangler television review

Today’s Throwback Thursday post takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police detectives turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. When a model with a striking resemblance to Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) is killed the Angels are hired by the victim’s parents to look into the case. For Kelly and Jill (Farrah Fawcett) that means going undercover as models with Sabrina (Kate Jackson stepping in as a photo stylist and working closer with a scummy photographer (William Beckley) with a history of violence against women and underground pornographic films. Although Kelly’s resemblance to the dead model is highlighted at the beginning of the episode, it really has very little to do with the outcome of the plot (making one wonder if it was originally supposed to be a much larger part of the story).
