Arrow - Broken Dolls

Picking up from last week’s cliffhanger, the latest episode of Arrow opens with the Black Canary (Caity Lotz) springing Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) from Laurel‘s (Katie Cassidy) trap. Loosing his new friend moments later, Oliver enlists the help of Roy (Colton Haynes) to learn as much about Startling City’s new vigilante as possible. Tracking down a young woman named Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus) gets Roy face-to-face he wanted but things don’t go quite as he planned.

While visiting the hospital, Ollie gets on the bad side of a local politician (Kevin Alejandro) using the trouble in the Glades to boost his profile and rile up the local masses and media against the promises of a spoiled rich boy who doesn’t have the best interests of Starling City at heart.

Arrow‘s Second Season begins on the island but not as a flashback as Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (David Ramsey) head to the middle of nowhere to pull their friend out of his self-imposed exile after the tragedy in the Glades and his failure to save the city and honor his father’s legacy. Oliver reluctantly returns to flagging company in the crosshairs of a corporate takeover by Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau), his mother (Susanna Thompson) in prison awaiting trial, and deadly new band of machine-gun wielding hood-wearing copycats taking up the slack in the missing Green Arrow’s absence including killing the mayor and taking Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and many of the city’s wealthy elite hostage. When that fails to get their point across, the vigilantes decide to target the city’s favorite media darling – Oliver Queen.

Mixing Oliver readjusting to life in Starling City with his mother (Susanna Thompson) and sister (Willa Holland), while also unleashing a deadly form of justice on the streets with the help of his hacker pal (Emily Bett Rickards) and bodyguard (David Ramsey), the First Season also included ongoing flashbacks to his time on the island.

Arrow‘s First Season finale begins on the eve of The Undertaking with Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) in the clutches of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). After escaping, with the timely assistance of Diggle (David Ramsey), Starling City’s vigilante gathers the troops who include Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne), who puts his career in jeopardy to help save lives. Oliver convinces Tommy (Colin Donnell) to confront his father and Moira (Susanna Thompson) to stand-up publicly and reveal Malcolm’s plan, but the threat of stopping the Dark Archer falls on the shoulders of Green Arrow alone in a season finale where not everyone will survive.
