Scooby-Doo! Team-Up #37 comic reviewThe Scooby Gangs heads to Midvale in Scooby-Doo! Team-Up #37 where Supergirl is being haunted the ghosts of her Kryptonian family. Revealing her identity to Mystery, Inc., the Maid of Might asks for the team’s help in solving a mystery that turns out to be a hoax by Nasthalthia Luthor in order to prove that Linda is Supergirl.

While the team works on solving the mystery and providing some misdirection to keep the niece of Lex Luthor from discovering the truth about Supergirl’s real identity, a good portion of the comic features dust-ups between Scooby-Doo and Supergirl’s cat Streaky. Exposed to the same odd version of Kryptonite that gave the super-cat its powers, Scooby gets some temporary powers of his own which come in handy later in the issue to thwart the villain’s scheme.

Elementary - Our Time Is Up television review

While it appears we will need to wait at least one more week before Sherlock‘s (Jonny Lee Miller) condition has an effect on his performance as a consulting detective for the NYPD, the latest episode does continue to have some fun with the concept with the introduction of an old-school steampunk sensory deprivation chamber which Holmes will use multiple times over the course of the episode to help with his symptoms. Meanwhile, the murder of Watson‘s (Lucy Liu) old psychologist will lead the show’s other detective into considering a major life change.

Hawaii Five-0 - Waiho wale kahiko television review

Hawaii Five-0 can sometimes get a bit carried away with stories that strain the show’s credibility to (and sometimes past) all reasonable limits, as with the show’s Eight Season finale. When a Russian nuclear submarine shows up on the beaches of Hawaii, Five-0 goes on the search for a missing seaman who leaves a trail of bodies in his wake. What starts out as a search for a single Russian grows with the discovery of a sleeper cell of Russian spies all over the island. Eventually you get McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) boarding the nuclear sub, the entire Five-0 team shooting up a Russian embassy, the team forcibly taking a Russian spy from Russian soil (by blackmailing local officials), and somehow none of this causes an international incident.

Remington Steele - Signed, Steeled, and Delivered television review

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. When CIA information retrieval specialist Sheldon Quarry (Thom Bray) shows up on Steele‘s (Pierce Brosnan) doorstep after being shot at and followed, the private eyes have a new case. Thanks to the fictional history Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) created to fill in the life of the fake PI she created, which strongly suggests Steele was part of the CIA back in the day, Sheldon believes he is the perfect man for the job. And time is a factor as these attacks keep taking Sheldon away from his fiance Lucille (Alexandra Johnson) and their impending wedding.

Elementary - Pushing Buttons television review

While the theme of Holmes‘ (Jonny Lee Miller) illness is present yet again, the main focus of “Pushing Buttons” involves the murder of Revolutionary War reenactor (and pyramid scheme creator) on the battlefield followed up by the arson of his home. As with many previous episodes of the series, Holmes and Watson (Lucy Liu) will work their way through suspects and various motives before finding the true reason for both crimes. This week’s reveal is almost too convoluted for its own good (hopefully not a sign of things to come). Given his condition, and his doctor’s prescription of rest, it would seem to be an interesting way to gear multiple episodes of the season towards Watson as the primary character, although that doesn’t seem to be what the writes have in mind.
