Lucifer - A Devil of My Word television review

Straight on the heels of news that FOX has decided not to renew the show, Lucifer presents its season (and now series) finale. Thanks to the evidence left behind from her investigation into Pierce (Tom Welling), it doesn’t take long for Dan (Kevin Alejandro), Lucifer (Tom Ellis), Ella (Aimee Garcia), and Chloe (Lauren German) all to come to the conclusion that the police captain murdered Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) and is framing a patsy for the crime. The result offers a final showdown between the Devil and the world’s first murderer in a finale that wraps up the Sinnerman arc but leaves several questions unanswered concerning the future of Lucifer and his detective.

Hawaii Five-0 - Kōpī wale nō i ka i'a a 'eu nō ka ilo television review

Over the years Hawaii Five-0 has provided several episodes sending McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin), and occasionally the rest of the Five-0 team, out of Hawaii and into more military-style adventures. The penultimate episode of the show’s rocky Eight Season follows this formula as McGarrett hitches a ride with Junior (Beulah Koale) and his SEAL team after learning their mission could involving finding Joe White (Terry O’Quinn). Not all that subtly, the episode mirrors the McGarret/White relationship with that of McGarrett and Junior. We also get flashbacks to a younger McGarrett on Joe White’s team, and the lengths Steve’s mentor went to keep him alive. Although its unclear if the team was successful in their primary mission of killing their target, McGarrett does get his man and brings him home.

Lucifer - Quintessential Deckerstar television review

There’s a bit of deja vu in play in “Quintessential Deckerstar” as Lucifer (Tom Ellis) attempts to force the old normality back onto his relationship with Chloe (Lauren German). We also get a murder of the week, an apparent home invasion gone wrong which will tie back into Charlotte‘s (Tricia Helfer) past as a defense attorney, and a series of events involving Pierce (Tom Welling) and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) which build on season-long arcs and will lead directly into next week’s season finale.

Elementary - Once You've Ruled Out God TV review

Murder by lightning gun turns Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan (Lucy Liu) on to a local laboratory missing some platinum, a dead Nazi bomb maker, and a legitimate threat of a dirty bomb being detonated in New York City. While the threat is very much real, the truth behind the series of events is never quite what it seems. The episode’s B-story involves more of Joan’s sister (Samantha Quan) and the death of her estranged and mentally-unstable biological father. While mostly filler, the B-story does feature a nice moment between the detectives which ties in Sherlock’s current illness with that of the father Joan barely knew.

Lucifer - All Hands on Decker television review

While Lucifer (Tom Ellis) tries to understand his partner’s perplexing decision to marry Pierce (Tom Welling) working a murder at a dog show with Dan (Kevin Alejandro), the ladies throw Chloe (Lauren German) a bachelorette party (although multiple guests have their own reasons for showing up). “All Hands on Decker” is pretty boilerplate Lucifer. The devil makes outrageous choices (such as taking on Chloe’s role and expecting Dan to be more like him), but eventually is lead to the truth he was seeking all along.
