Hawaii Five-0 - A Make Kaua

The season finale of Hawaii Five-0 not only brings us Kono (Grace Park) and Adam’s (Ian Anthony Dale) wedding day, and the return of Catherine (Michelle Borth), but also the arrival of a nuclear warhead on the island which Five-0 frantically searches to find. At first Five-0 believes the thieves plan to sell the warhead to a member of Al Queda in Hawaii, but when the terrorist turns up to be nothing more than a decoy it becomes obvious the men plans for the weapon don’t involve money.

Hawaii Five-0 - Luapo'i

The last episode of Hawaii Five-0 before the season finale centers around the death of a bounty hunter killed alongside a local police officer by a dirty cop (Michael Rodrick) from the mainland responsible for the deaths of several young women. Offering a chance to bring back Duane Chapman for another cameo, the episode also co-stars Brad William Henke as another bounty hunter who turns over the fugitive not to police but the father of one of the man’s victims.

Castle - Dead from New York

Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) are called in to investigate the murder of the creator and producer of a Saturday Night Live-style comedy show when the man’s body is found in the studio. There are several moments which are meant to be cute, such as Castle getting annoyed with Beckett flirting with one of the stars of the show (who is also a suspect), but don’t quite work. (No matter her personal feelings for someone she certainly wouldn’t let it interfere in a murder investigation or dance with Castle in public in the middle of a crime scene.)

Hawaii Five-0 - Mo'o 'olelo Pu

I do enjoy Kono (Grace Park) episodes. While “Mo’o ‘olelo Pu” does offer a case of the week involving a recently paroled meth maker getting back into the business which sent him to prison the main focus of the latest episode is Kono getting lost at sea while attempting to sail around the Hawaiian islands before her wedding day. Along with Kono stuggling to survive her ordeal at sea the episode also offers several flashbacks to her childhood, her relationship with her mother (Catherine Haena Kim), and Kono’s love of the ocean. It’s an unusual episode for the series but one that gives us greater insight to a character not named McGarrett (a definite rarity) and offers the chance for Park to shine.

Elementary - The Best Way Out Is Always Through

While working with Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) to investigate the murder of a judge, which may or may not have been committed by a recent prison escapee, Marcus Bell (Jon Michael Hill) learns a disturbing truth about his girlfriend (Afton Williamson) who has hidden from him the fact that she works for Internal Affairs. Deducing the escapee is nothing more than a patsy, and finding her discarded body still on prison grounds, leads Holmes to the real reason behind multiple murders. Marcus’ love life, on the other hand, will take longer to figure out.
