Nights #9

You have the feeling all through Nights #9 that this is the calm before the storm. However, at least for an issue, our characters are enjoying themselves in this Christmas trip to New York City for Vince’s college admission interview and a chance for couples of Gray and Vince and Ivory and Molly to grow closer and everyone to have a fun relatively monster-free holiday apart from the craziness of their daily lives. Sounds boring, but it isn’t as the title continues to deliver strong stories month after month.

Nights #8

Don’t lose your head. Halloween is a good time for all, until it isn’t. Nights #8 gives us characters in a good place. Ivory has his demon under control and love may be in the air for more than just Vince and Gray. Even Matt is enjoying himself scarring the shit of the neighborhood trick-or-treaters. Well, it would be except for those cats.

As the countdown to the end of the world ticks ever closer Vince and his friends hit the local water park for some old fashioned fun that doesn’t go exactly as planned. Nights #5 continues the mix of dark themes and foreboding with humorous moments such as Gray teasing Vince about missing his chance at mouth-to-mouth or an example of even the dead having trouble with computer games.

Nights #2

After the much longer opening story that set up the world and characters of Nights, issue #2 offers a more straightforward tale involving Vince attempting to make it home for movie night with Gray after falling asleep on the bus. In order to make it home, he’ll need to cut through the woods which, as everyone knows, is a really bad idea.
