Scandal - Run

Scandal returns from mid-season break with an unusual episode that rehashes the mid-season surprise abduction of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) by a group of well-trained kidnappers. Aside from scenes dealing with Jake‘s (Scott Foley) reaction to his disappearance we get nothing from the series regulars (except for a short hallucination sequence) or their reaction to her disappearance. Instead the entire episode focuses on Olivia in captivity of what appears to be a Middle Eastern prison. Of course appearances can be deceiving.

Scandal - The Price of Free and Fair Election

Picking up only moments after the close of the previous episode when Cyrus (Jeff Perry) chose to not tell the President (Tony Goldwyn) about the bombing planned at the funeral which he hoped would take care of the Fitz’s rivals, Scandal closes its Third Season with an emotional roller-coaster of a season finale full of twists, turns, and an ending that leaves the future of multiple characters in serious doubt. Immeadiately backfiring, and apparently handing the election to Sally Langston (Kate Burton) who survives the attack in heroic fashion pulling well ahead in all polling, both Cyrus and Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) are forced to admit defeat as election day looms.

Scandal - Flesh and Blood

Setting all the pieces in place for next week’s season finale, “Flesh and Blood” deals with the immediate fallout from Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) shutting down B-613 unaware that she’s blinding the U.S. Government just as her mother and her co-conspirators have put together a plan to kill President Grant (Tony Goldwyn). Working with her father, against Jake’s advice, Olivia and her team find the bombmaker who just happens to be Maya‘s (Khandi Alexander) one true love who Rowan (Joe Morton) gleeful murders when given the opportunity.

Scandal - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Putting aside the drama of the Vice-President Sally Langston‘s (Kate Burton) murder of her husband, although we do get the subplot of Langston’s campaigning to steal away the NRA endorsement from Fitz (Tony Goldwyn), “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” deals primarily with the fallout of Jake‘s (Scott Foley) murder of three members of the Publius conspiracy including James (Dan Bucatinsky). Allowed to live, David Rosen (Joshua Malina) struggles with ignoring what happened and sweeping James’ murder, and the disappearances of two of his friends, under the rug as nothing more than a car jacking gone wrong.
