Arrow - City of Blood

With Moira (Susanna Thompson) dead, Sara (Caity Lotz) leaving Starling City, Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) under constant sedation, Slade Wilson‘s (Manu Bennett) army of Mirakuru-enhanced soldiers ready for action, Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau) back from the dead and more dangerous than ever, Sebastian Blood (Kevin Alejandro) sworn in as the city’s new mayor, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) turn to Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) to find the missing Oliver (Stephen Amell) who is all that stands between the city and annihilation.

With Thea (Willa Holland) planning on leaving the city and a defeated Oliver ready to turn himself over to Slade, things look bleak at least until Laurel (Katie Cassidy) steps in to talk some sense into the city’s hero by exposing Blood’s relationship with Slade (and the fact that Slade killed Moira in part to make Blood mayor) offering Green Arrow a cause worth fighting, rather than just dying, for.

Flashbacks to the island center around Ollie, Sara, and Anatoly (David Nykl) working to free the submarine while in the present Ollie’s makeshift plan to bury Blood and his army underground runs into some snags of its own. As the episode comes to a close Blood’s army marches on the city, Green Arrow and Laurel are buried alive, and both Thea and Officer Lance (Paul Blackthorne) are both put in grave danger. On the plus side, Felicity receives a call from S.T.A.R. Labs which means either a cure to the serum or Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) awakening from his coma, either of which could help turn the tide in the season’s remaining two episodes which also offer the return of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman).
