Arrow - Doppelganger #tvreview

There’s a shake-up in Star City as Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) comes forward pretending to be this world’s Laurel Lance putting Oliver (Stephen Amell) in a tough spot and preventing Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) from taking revenge on the super-villain for her recent actions. Meanwhile, Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) consolidates his power and influence in the corrupt police force apparently leaving him as the major villain over the remainder of the season. Add to that the return of Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), captured by Diaz’s cronies, and there’s plenty for Team Arrow to deal with.

The season has seen Black Siren waffle and jump sides when it suits her, but whose side is she really on? Can she indeed be saved? The return of Roy offers the excuse for Thea (Willa Holland) to suit back up as Red Arrow. With Oliver’s allies becoming scarcer every day, is it possible one or both will continue on under the hood? Prior to that, it looks like Thea may have some family business to deal with next week. Of the villains united to take down Oliver Queen and claim Star City as their own, I have to admit Diaz is the least interesting of the bunch. The slow-play torture Prometheus used on Oliver last season doesn’t really make sense coming from Diaz. Just what is the man’s endgame?
