Danger Man - Hired Assassin television review

Throwback Thursday takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. John Drake (Patrick McGoohan) goes undercover in South America an assassin in order to prevent an assassination by revolutionaries in “Hired Assassin.” Opening with Drake already in the role, running from local police (who are helping sell his cover) offers a nice change of pace to start the episode. The target of the deception is a nightclub singer (Judy Carne) who decides to help hide Drake once she learns he is an assassin for hire. A few introductions later, and Drake is working to kill the president. Actually, by coming up with an over-complicated plan that sounds foolproof involving digging a tunnel under the route of the car and using explosives, Drake narrows the revolutionaries chances to kill their target to a single opportunity which he is able to foil. By the time the revolutionaries discover Drake is working against them, their fate is sealed.
