The peace jubilee creates a temporary ceasefire between Po (Mick Wingert) and Temutai (Kevin Michael Richardson), the leader of the Qidan Clan. Up first for the pair, each clad in a crown (at a jaunty angle!)  is to judge the children’s Kung Fu competition which turns out to be uneventful, that is until it pits Temutai’s nephew against an unknown boy from the next village named Peng (Danny Cooksey).

After winning the competition Peng decides to stay and train with the Jade Palace which excites Po until he starts feeling jealous of all the attention Peng is receiving. The Dragon Warrior starts to fear being replaced by the young prodigy.

Po’s lie to the youngster that he’s not good enough to stay and train has unforeseen results when Peng takes on Temutai to prove to Shifu (Fred Tatasciore) that he belongs in the Jade Palace. It also turns the closing ceremonies of the peace jubilee a full scale brawl involving the entire town and forces Po to come clean in front of everyone and ask for Peng’s forgiveness.

A fun episode that lays the foundation for another new character to the ever-expanding Kung Fu Panda universe, as well as gives the audience a interesting (if not all that surprising) late twist which may make the return of Peng all the more intriguing.
