Kidnapped by Mr. Mxyzptlk (David Errigo Jr.), Clark (Jack Quaid), Jimmy (Ishmel Sahid), Kara (Kiana Madeira), and Lois (Alice Lee) are forced to compete in a series of games against a team of an alternate Jimmy, Kara, and Lois and led by a good Lex Luthor (Max Mittelman) forced to compete by Mxyzptlk’s wife Ms. Gsptlsnz (Erin Anderson). Wackiness ensues.
Given the power-set of Mxyzptlk, I thought the show might use him as a deus ex machina to simply restore Superman’s powers. Instead, the rules of the games are changed to give Clark (who alone discovers the truth of what they are doing) a fighting chance. “Ex Games” is a nice standalone episode to break up the more serious episodes of the season (although we don’t end without yet another new threat emerging from the horizon).
