The investigation of a car crash leads to unexpected twists and turns when the victim turns out not to be a very pregnant, and very alive, Naval officer (Kate Miner) but a Bulgarian imposter who stole her identity. Given her resemblance to the victim, NCIS sends Whistler (Tori Anderson) in undercover to try and find the victim’s partners and discover what they wanted with stealing the identities of three Naval officers none of which have access to classified information or access to anything obvious of high monetary value other than medical supplies.

“Stolen Valor” waits until the final 20 minutes before revealing what the group was after hiding in an x-ray machine, raising the stakes in the final act of the story with NCIS loosing the suspects and the material they need to create a dirty bomb. Whistler’s undercover stint allows her to put Lucy‘s (Yasmine Al-Bustami) combat training, teased at the beginning of the episode, into practice and fills in a bit of her backstory as well. The episode also sees the return of Bam Bam (Cher Alvarez) who discovers the car’s computer was hacked leading to the crash.
