- Title: Poirot – The Third Floor Flat

Murder Mystery Monday takes us back to early 20th Century London and another case for the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. Murder hits close to home for Poirot (David Suchet) when his new downstairs neighbor Mrs Ernestine Grant (Josie Lawrence) is found murdered. Returning from the theatre with Captain Hastings (Hugh Fraser), for a play which the downstairs neighbors of Grant also attended, Poirot is alerted to the crime by the two men (Nicholas Pritchard and Robert Hines) attempting to get back to their locked apartment using the dumbwaiter system, and, on accidentally arriving on the wrong floor, discovering the body.
Spending the wee-hours of the morning with the foursome (Pritchard, Hines, Suzanne Burden, and Amanda Elwes) teaching them a bit about murder investigation, enjoying a good breakfast among friends, fixating on some finer points of the case, and solving the crime as to who wanted the new tenant (who had moved in that very afternoon) dead. It’s a fun little mystery where the comradery between Poirot and his neighbors will take a darker turn when one is revealed to be the killer. The case will nab Poirot a murderer, although not before another tragedy will befall Hastings in the killer’s attempt to make a quick getaway.
