Pretty Little Liars - Hot Water

Jason (Parker Bagley) disappearance from the hospital has all four of the Liars on edge. Aria (Lucy Hale) returns home to discover Wesley (Gregg Sulkin) has taken off in the night and Ezra (Ian Harding) has returned, Ezra’s return also means the return of his mother (Mary Page Keller) who continues to play with her son’s life by trying to evict the mother of his child from her apartment building and plant seeds in Aria’s mind about how much more complicated her relationship with Ezra is now that he knows he has a child.

Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) tag along with Paige (Lindsey Shaw) in her search in trying to identify who wore the Queen of Hearts costume and attacked Spencer on Halloween. Hanna also confronts Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson) about his night on the boat with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and CeCe (Vanessa Ray) which leads the detective to have a talk with Hanna’s mother (Laura Leighton) and force CeCe to leave town over Hanna’s “idle gossip.” His second altercation with Hanna’s mother however, who runs him over with his car, is likely to have far serious repercussions.

Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) continues to cover for Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) downward spiral which leads Spencer to spend more time with Julian Wren (Julian Morris), much to the displeasure of both her sister and A (who locks Spencer in a steam room to teach her a lesson). After being saved by Aria, Spencer comes clean to her friend about her relationship with Wren leading to Spencer and decides to gather the Liars and finally tell the group the truth she’s been hiding for weeks.

The car accident is well set-up and executed (perhaps just as Wilen planned?) but should bring an entirely new set of problems into the lives of one of the Liars and her mother whose actions are caught on the police cruiser’s video feed. I’m less interested in Aria’s increasingly complicated love life than Spencer finally breaking down and share the truth about Toby (Keegan Allen), which should hopefully take place next week and have its own serious repercussions for Spencer and her three friends as well.
